Xiaolong Jin is currently a professor and a PhD advisor of the Institute of Computing Technology (ICT), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He is also a professor of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Prof. Jin is the Deputy Secretary-General of the China Digital Economy 50 Forum, China Computer Federation (CCF), a distinguished memeber of CCF, and a member of IEEE and ACM. He was the Director Assistant of the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data Analysis System, based at ICT-CAS and the Deputy Secretary-General of the CCF Expert Committee on Big Data.

Before joining ICT, he served as a Research Fellow in 2008-2010 and a Post-Doctoral Researcher in 2005-2008 with School of Informatics, University of Bradford, UK. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Hong Kong Baptist University in 2005. He gained his M.Eng. degree also in Computer Science from the CAS in 2001 and his B.Sc. degree in Applied Mathematics from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (BUAA, now Beihang University) in 1998, respectively.

Prof. Jin's current research interests include Knowledge Engineering, Knowledge Computing, Knowledge Graph etc. He has published more than 220 papers in prestigious journals, including IEEE TKDE, IEEE/ACM TASLP, ACM TWeb, ACM TIST, IEEE TWC, IEEE ToC, IEEE TSMC–Part A, IEEE TPDS, IEEE Communication Letters etc., and in reputable international conferences, including IJCAI, AAAI, ACL, COLING, SIGIR, CIKM, WSDM, WWW, EMNLP, GLOBECOM, ICC, AINA, LCN, AAMAS, IAT, and WI. He has co-authored four monographs published by Springer and Tsinghua University Press, respectively.

Prof. Jin received the Distinguished Science Alumni Award from Faculty of Science, Hong Kong Baptist University and the Outstanding Service Award from CCF Expert Committee on Big Data, China Computer Federation both in 2023, the CVIC Software Engineering Talent Award in 2021, the 2019 Top Cited Articles Award from Elsevier. He also received several best paper awards, including Best Student Paper Award at IEEE ICBK-2017, Best Paper Award at IEEE CIT-2015, Best Academic Paper Award at CCF Big Data 2015, IEEE Best Paper Award at AINA'07, and Excellent Paper Award at ICAMT'03. He received the National Science and Technology Progress Award (Second Class) of China in 2017 and the Science and Technology Progress Award (First Class) of Chinese Institute of Electronics, China in 2016. He has served as a chair, co-chair, or member on the technical or executive committees of more than 100 conferences and workshops including IJCAI, AAAI, SIGIR, ACL, CIKM, IUCC, LCN, AINA, AAMAS, WI, and IAT.
